Are you engaged in research at Uppsala University, SLU, a company, a public authority, a museum or an organisation? If you are, we hope you would like to present your research as an exhibitor at Uppsala’s biggest science festival, SciFest.
The latest festival, in 2019, attracted 8,600 visitors and the number is increasing every year.
SciFest is a science festival that gives researchers from every field, companies and organisations a chance to meet and present their research – through exhibits, experiments and workshops. The aim is to demonstrate the breadth of research conducted at the University and in society more widely and to awaken an interest in science, particularly among children and young people. Moreover, you would have a chance to talk with visitors about your research, get feedback and new ideas.

Date: 5-7 March 2020
Venue: SciFest will take place in the modern energy-smart multi-purpose halls at Fyrishov. With 5,000 sq. m of floor space, a ceiling height of 10 m and masses of windows, the stage is set for an enlightening and dynamic science festival.
A few figures – SciFest 2019

- 17 departments from Uppsala University
SciFest 2020 will be held at Fyrishov on 5–7 March. The activities on Thursday and Friday are open to school classes – from first-year to final-year pupils. The programme on Saturday is open to the public.
Last year, 278 exhibitors took part in the festival, offering a range of items: hands-on activities, exhibits, experiments, and a full stage programme including lectures, a chemistry show and a magic show. Bearing young target groups in mind, we particularly encourage all kinds of interactive contributions.
Participation is free of charge.
As an exhibitor you can choose between two options:
- Organise a bookable workshop. You will have access to a 25 sq. m stand with two tables and 16 chairs. The activity will go on all day. On Thursday and Friday the activity will be assigned bookable sessions and will be open for spontaneous visits in between. On Saturday no bookable sessions will be given, instead the activity will be open to spontaneous visitors all day. Electricity, lighting and Wi-Fi are included.
- Organise a non-bookable (non-stop) activity. You will have access to an open space with a table and three chairs. The activity is based on spontaneous visits all three days. Electricity, lighting and Wi-Fi are included.

The first step is to register your interest in participating, on the SciFest site.
Everyone who registers as an exhibitor will be invited to two workshops. At a first workshop in November, we will help you flesh out your ideas and create a plan for your activity. In January we have another workshop, where can fine-tune your idea with the help of other exhibitors.

|10 December||Definite registration – information text describing the activity will be entered in the booking system. This is the text that will be printed in the programme. Link to the booking system will be added later.|
|14 January||Workshop for exhibitors. Fine-tuning your ideas. What should you think about when planning your exhibition? What’s the best way to reach your target group? Staff from Gustavianum will be there to help you. Registration for workshop on 14 January.|
|11 February||Teachers evening. Exhibitors can participate and show teachers their research/activity. Teachers are invited to a lecture by Keri Facer, holder of the Zennström Visiting Professorship in Climate Change Leadership.|
|4 March||A van will pick up your material on campus during the day and transport it to Fyrishov. You can start setting up your stand at approx. 15:30.|
